Microneedling Collagen Induction Therapy

Revitalize & rejuvenate to achieve youthful, vibrant skin!*

There is an old saying, “age is undefeated.” Basically, the thinking behind the old adage is that no matter how hard you try, old age will eventually creep up on you. Clearly, whoever invented this saying had never heard of microneedling, because this amazing procedure can reverse the signs of aging.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a procedure that is meant to rejuvenate and revitalize your skin, giving you youthful and vibrant skin. The procedure consists of inserting tiny needles into the skin, making hundreds of minute punctures on the outermost layer of skin. Once the skin is punctured, the body will work to heal the “wounds,” providing collagen and elastin to the skin. The collagen and elastin, combined with new cell generation, can work to reverse the signs of aging.

What are the Benefits of Microneedling?

Microneedling has a plethora of skincare benefits and provides lasting and immediate results. Here are some of the amazing benefits of microneedling:

Get Rid of Acne Scars and Signs of Acne
Even if you are past the point of breakouts, acne can still leave a lasting mark on your face with acne scars. Get rid of signs of acne and acne scars with microneedling, giving you smooth and luscious skin.

Reduce Wrinkles and Fine Lines with Microneedling
One of the main benefits of microneedling is getting youthful and new skin, stopping the effects of aging and unleashing a new you!* The procedure actually triggers the production of new skin cells, which works to repair wrinkles, fine lines and crow’s feet around the eyes.

Reverse Damage from Sun Exposure & Skin Discoloration
Microneedling promotes the production of collagen that is very useful in fighting sun damage and skin discoloration. If you find you have brown and blotchy skin from too many hours in the San Diego sunshine, microneedling may be the answer.

Microneedling Makes Your Pores Appear Smaller
Microneedling can shrink your pores by stimulating collagen around them. The collagen causes the pores to plump up and appear smaller, creating flawless and beautiful skin.

Microneedling, PRP Therapy and the Vampire Facial

In most cases, microneedling will be used in conjunction with platelet-rich plasma therapy as part of the Vampire Facial, one of the most popular treatments at Skinny Beach. The Vampire Facial uses PRP therapy and microneedling to maximize the efficiency of the two treatments, as they work together to beat up father time and reverse signs of aging.

Microneedling Frequently Asked Questions

Is Microneedling Safe?

While poking tiny holes in your face doesn’t sound like the safest procedure, it is actually a minimally invasive and low-risk procedure. As long as you have a trained professional at Skinny Beach performing the procedure, you are in good hands. Recently, at home microneedling devices have come in vogue, but we strongly discourage anyone from attempting to perform the procedure on themselves. You need a trained medical professional in order to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Does Microneedling Hurt?

Skinny Beach will provide you with a numbing agent before we begin the procedure, but that will not completely dull the sensation. Some have compared the feeling to having an electric toothbrush rubbing over the skin, while others have found it more aggravating. It all depends on the individual’s pain tolerance.

How Long Does Microneedling Take?

In most cases, the entire procedure will not last longer than an hour. The entire procedure is done in house and will only require one visit, although sometimes it requires a few sessions to get the desired effects.

Is Microneedling Only For My Face?

No! You can use microneedling on a variety of other body parts in order to reduce the signs of aging. However, microneedling cannot effectively treat cellulite.
