At Skinny Beach, we want you to love the way you look when you leave our office. For the best results, it’s important to follow our pre-care checklist prior to your appointment. The instructions below are designed to maximize skin readiness and minimize any risks or downtime so you get the most out of your treatment.* If you have any questions or concerns, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.

 


 

Tattoo Removal

Avoid excessive sun exposure, spray tanning and tanning beds for at least three weeks prior to laser tattoo removal, as darker skin tones can increase your risk of laser-induced blisters or burns.

    1. – Stop using Accutane at least six months before receiving laser tattoo removal.
    2. – Discontinue use of Retin-A and all Retinol containing skin products at the treatment site two days before your appointment.
    3. – If you’re on light-sensitizing antibiotics, wait at least two weeks after your last dose before getting laser tattoo removal.
    4. – If you recently got inked, you must wait a minimum of six weeks before having your tattoo removed.

  1. – If you’ve used topical tattoo removal creams, you must wait a minimum of six weeks before coming in for treatment.
  2. – Avoid waxing and/or using any chemical depilatories in the two weeks leading up to laser tattoo removal.
  3. – Before coming in for your appointment, make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup, lotion, and sunscreen.

 


 

Laser Hair Removal

Avoid excessive direct sun exposure, spray tanning and tanning beds for at least three weeks prior to laser hair removal, as darker skin tones can increase your risk of laser-induced blisters or burns.*

    1. – Avoid plucking, waxing, bleaching, and electrolysis in the six weeks leading up to your treatment.
    2. – Discontinue use of Retin-A and all Retinol containing skin products at the treatment site two days before your appointment.
    3. – Stop using Accutane at least six months before receiving laser hair removal
    4. – Shave the day before your appointment. Laser hair removal targets hair in the active growth phase, which can be initiated by shaving

  1. – If you develop a rash, blemish, or cold sore at the treatment site, call us to reschedule your appointment
  2. – Before coming in for your appointment, make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup, lotion, and sunscreen.

 


 

Botox® (Includes Masseter Injections) and Dermal Fillers

    1. – Avoid anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin, ibuprofen, and omega-3/fish oil supplements for at least two weeks prior to treatment to avoid bruising at the injection site.*
    2. – Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment, as it can thin your blood and increase the risk of bruising.*

  1. – Discontinue use of Retin-A and all Retinol containing skin products at the treatment site two days before your appointment.
  2. – If you develop a rash, blemish, or cold sore at the treatment site, call us to reschedule your appointment.

 


 

Kybella Double Chin Removal

    1. – Avoid all blood-thinning medications and supplements at for at least one week prior to your Kybella treatment.
    2. – For comfort, you may take ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment.* Have some available at home for post-care, too.
    3. – Let us know if you have a history of difficulty swallowing, medication allergies, nerve injury in the lower face, or an infection in the area.

  1. – Limit your salt intake for three days prior to treatment.
  2. – You may not receive treatment if you are pregnant or nursing.

 


 

Laser Skin Resurfacing

    1. – Avoid excessive direct sun exposure, spray tanning and tanning beds for at least three weeks prior to laser skin resurfacing, as darker skin tones can increase your risk of side effects of laser skin toning.*
    2. – If you have a history of herpes infections around your mouth or other treatment areas, we may prescribe Acyclovir for you to help prevent any flare-ups.*
    3. – Avoid waxing or using depilatory creams on the treatment area for one week prior to your appointment.

  1. – Avoid products containing Retin-A, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents and vitamin C for one week prior to your appointment.
  2. – Before coming in for your appointment, make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup, lotion, and sunscreen.

 


 

SkinMedica® Peels

    1. – Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least four weeks prior to treatment, as a tan can cause burns and result in hyperpigmentation.*
    2. – Avoid tweezing, electrolysis, waxing, depilatory creams, and laser hair removal one week before your treatment.
    3. – Avoid using acidic or irritating products containing retinol and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) three days before your treatment.
    4. – Avoid using any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating to the skin three days before your treatment.

  1. – If you develop a rash, blemish, or cold sore at the treatment site, call us to reschedule your appointment.
  2. – Avoid Botox and dermal filler injections on or around the treatment area for 1 week prior to your peel.
  3. – Before coming in for your appointment, make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup, lotion, and sunscreen.

 


 

Fat Removal and Skin Tightening

    1. – Come to your appointment well-hydrated. Drink lots of water the day before, the day of, and the day after your treatment.
    2. – Make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup, lotion, and sunscreen before coming in for your appointment. Remove all jewelry.

  1. – Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment, so that we can easily access the treatment area.
  2. – Be sure to shave the treatment area before your appointment. Your skin should be hair-free.
  3. – Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may not receive the Exilis Ultra Cellulite & Fat Removal treatment.

 


 

Exilis Ultra Non-Surgical Facelift

    1. – Make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup, lotion, and sunscreen before coming in for your appointment. Remove all jewelry.
    2. – Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment and don’t wear anything you have to pull over your head.

  1. – Men receiving Exilis Ultra should shave their face before coming in for their appointment.
  2. – Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding may not receive the Exilis Ultra Non-Surgical Facelift treatment.

 


 

Spider Vein Removal

  1. – Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least four weeks prior to treatment to avoid burns and blisters at the treatment site.*
  2. – Refrain from spray tanning for two to four weeks before having laser spider vein removal.
  3. – Avoid applying any irritating soaps and lotions to the treatment site for a week prior to your appointment.
  4. – Stop using Accutane at least six months before laser spider vein removal.
  5. – Make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup, lotion, and sunscreen before coming in for your appointment. Secure long hair in a ponytail.
  6. – Bring a pair of loose-fitting shorts with you to wear after your spider vein removal treatment.
